Dr. Nakazwe is a Mental Health Specialist with 13+ years of experience, holding a BA in Psychology (University of Zambia), an MSc in Psychological Research Methods (University of Sheffield), and a PhD in Psychology (Lingnan University, Hong Kong). She lectures and conducts research in the Department of Psychology at the University of Zambia, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses spanning research methods, forensic psychology, and military psychology, while supervising student research and serving on the university's Community Research Uptake Committee and as an external examiner across the region.
She is also the Behavioural Cluster Lead at the Centre for the Promotion of Literacy in Sub-Saharan Africa (CAPOLSA), where she oversees behaviour-related projects and mentors upcoming researchers. Her research focuses on child and youth mental health, survivors of gender-based violence, intimate partner violence, and labour trafficking, climate change-related mental health impacts, marginalized populations, and maternal healthcare, including her current role as Co-investigator on a Zambia-Sweden-UAE collaborative maternal healthcare project. She also conducts forensic assessments and reports for police, courts, and prisons, and works as a Stress Management and Lifestyle Coach.
She is a licensed member of the Psychology Association of Zambia and the Zambia Counselling Council, providing psychotherapy, counselling, and organizational workshops, and is a full member of the International Society for the Study of Behavioural Development (ISSBD).
